Riding a very strong pitching performance from Alex Cobb Wednesday evening, the Tampa Bay Rays blanked the Cleveland Indians 4-0 in the one game, winner take all American League Wild Card game.

Cobb held the Indians at bay, especially with runners on, and scattered 8 hits over his 6 2/3 innings of work.  Delmon Young (solo HR) and Desmond Jennings (two-run double) were the offensive heroes for the Rays.  The game was closed out with near perfect performances from three relievers, including closer Fernando Rodney who send the Indians packing with a 1-2-3 ninth.

The Rays now face the American League East Division champion Boston Red Sox in the ALDS which begins Friday afternoon.
