According to an undisclosed Associated Press source, the New York Yankees have signed a one-year, $2 million deal with second baseman Brian Roberts.

Roberts has played his entire career, spanning 13 years, with the Baltimore Oriels.  The deal is pending a physical according to the source.

The 36-year old Roberts was an All-Star in 2005 and 2007.  He has been riddled with injuries and has not managed to play a full season since 2009.

Roberts will most likely be an option to replace the departed Robinson Cano, who left in favor of a $240 million, 10-year deal with Seattle.
