The Binghamton Mets defeated the Richmond Flying Squirrels 5-1 Wdnesday night in Richmond to take a two games to none lead in their Eastern League Championship Series.  Binghamton won both meetings in Richmond and now  host the Flying Squirrels to the conclusion of the best-of-five series.  A Binghamton win tonight at NYSEG Stadium in Binghamton would give the B-Mets their third Eastern League Championship.

With Wednesday night's victory the B-Mets have now won four post-season games in a row on the road.  Should Richmond win tonight night the teams would meet at 7:05 on Saturday evening and if that does not decide the series there would be a Game 5 at 6:05 PM on Sunday.

The B-Mets have not won an Eastern League title since 1994.  If they win this series it would be the third title for the B-Mets.  They also won the championship in their first year of operation in 1992.

Fans can  get tickets online or by calling 723-METS or by heading out early to the stadium before tonight's game. .
