Boeheim Doesn’t Want Student Athletes To Get Paid
Syracuse University head basketball coach Jim Boeheim is calling the recent talk about paying college athletes as "the most idiotic suggestion of all time."
The discussion stems from retired NBA star Chris Webber's complaint that he was never compensated for his team jersey being sold in the campus store at his Alma Mater.
Boeheim said that Webber benefited from a free education and the national exposure needed to have a successful career in the NBA.
"He didn't get his $30,000 or $40,000," Boeheim said. "But he got his money."
