CHOW Hunger Walk Sunday
The 35th Annual CHOW Hunger Walk is set for Sunday, September 17th on the campus of Binghamton University. CHOW (The Community Hunger Outreach Warehouse) is an arm of the Broome County Council of Churches and provides food and meals for thousands of needy people in our area.
The CHOW Hunger Walk is held annually to collect non-perishable food and raise money to help stock food pantries and provide meals for those in need. Organizers and volunteers are asking those participating in the walk to contribute and solicit friends and relatives to make a pledge in their name as well.
Some items that are always useful are cereal, canned goods, pasta, baby formula and juices. It is always good to think of non-perishable food that can provide a meal for multiple family members.
The CHOW Hunger Walk forms and ends behind East Gym. Registration begins at 1:00 PM and the Walk starts at 2:00 PM. It is entirely on the BU campus. Binghamton University Dining Services will provide lunch for all participants at the conclusion of the event. Additional information is available at:
