Cornell Releases Details of Hazing Incident
Cornell University has cancelled the 2013 Men's lacrosse season following a reported hazing incident and now the university has released details of that hazing.
University officials say that upperclassmen allegedly forced team freshmen to drink excessive amounts of beer, causing several of them to vomit. The hazing was part of a team party where the team members were forced to drink large amounts of beer in competition with other teammates.
College officials say the freshmen were forced to stand in a circle and drink to the point were several members were physically sick.
Cornell held a 14-4 record last year and ended up losing to the eventual national champion Duke Bluedevils in the tournament semi-finals.
