Giants Officially Out Of Playoffs With Loss To Chargers
The New York Giants were eliminated from playoff contention on Sunday afternoon with their 37-14 loss to the San Diego Chargers.
Philip Rivers, who was traded by the Giants for Eli Manning, had three touchdown passes; two of which found Keenan Allen.
Manning was picked off twice, one of which led to the first of Allen's two scores. Manning is now 0-3 against the team that drafted him No. 1 overall and then shipped him off to New York for Rivers.
The Giants are now 5-8 on the year and their bid to keep the season alive after starting 0-6 has come to an end.
"That's not what the goal was," Manning said. "This organization and this team expects to make the playoffs and be in contention for championships and obviously to know that with three games to go, it's disappointing. Today's loss was a tough one."
The Giants will face the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday in the Meadowlands.
