According to ESPN, Jon "Bones" Jones will defend his light heavyweight championship against the number 1 contender Glover Teixeira in February.

UFC president Dana White says Jones requested to fight Teixeria next, who is 22-2 and has a current 20-fight win streak.

Jones is coming off of a brutal title defense against Alexander Gustafsson this past weekend in Toronto.  Jones was briefly hospitalized following the bloody bout.

Jones has elected to fight Teixeria in lieu of a rematch with Gustafsson, but the Endicott, New York native says the Swede will get his rematch.

Jones (19-1) currently holds the record for the most consecutive light heavyweight title defenses.
