New York Rangers' goaltender Henrik Lundvist recorded his 47th NHL shutout on Thursday night as the Blueshirts blanked the Buffalo Sabres 2-0 at Madison Square Garden.

Lundvist, who missed two games with an undisclosed injury last week, was sharp in his 29 save effort.  The Buffalo Sabres, along with the Rangers, are at the bottom of the NHL in scoring.  However, Lundvist needed to stand tall, especially late in the game, and he did.

The Rangers pelted Buffalo netminder Ryan Miller with 46 shots and only managed two tallies, a power play goal in the first from Derick Brassard and a second period goal from Chris Kreider.

The Rangers seem to be finding their game and have won two in a row and three of their last four.  They will host the Carolina Panthers on Saturday night in the second of four straight home games.
