New York Jets QB Mark Sanchez had undergone surgery on his injured right shoulder and is done for the rest of the season.  Many say he is done as a Jet.

The surgery to repair Sanchez's torn labrum was performed on Tuesday.  Sanchez was injured in the team's third pre-season game against the Giants.

Sanchez says he is "disappointed" by not being able to play this year.  He is expected to make a full recovery.  However, a hefty contract could make him a casualty of the salary cap in the offseason, especially if rookie Geno Smith continues his solid play.

Smith and the Jets are next in action against the Steelers on Sunday in the Meadowlands.
