Rangers’ Callahan Out With Broken Thumb
New York Rangers' Captain Ryan Callahan, who had off-season shoulder surgery, will now miss up to a month after suffering a broken thumb on Wednesday in the game against Washington.
The Rangers have recalled forward Darroll Powe from the Connecticut Whale to replace Callahan. Powe has 1 goal in 4 games with the Rangers' farm team.
Callahan has three goals on the year all of which have come in the Blueshirts' last two games.
The Rangers are in the home stretch of their 9-game road trip to start the season and are next in action on Saturday night against the New Jersey Devils.
