Rangers’ Hot Streak Continues, Defeat Slumping Panthers
The New York Rangers gave up three goals for the first time in ten games on Sunday night but were still able to defeat the reeling Florida Panthers 4-3 at Madison Square Garden.
A frustrated Brad Richards was able to net his first goal in nine games to break the 2-2 tie in the early stages of the third period. Mats Zuccarello was able to make the lead two when he scored on the Rangers' two-man advantage.
Brian Campbell scored his second goal of the game for Florida with seven minutes left to bring the Panthers within one, but the Rangers were able to hold on for their third straight win and six of their last seven.
The Broadway Blueshirts are now at 9-8-0 on the season and are above .500 for the first time this year. They will take on rival New Jersey on Tuesday night at MSG.
