Alex Rodriguez began the grievance process on Monday to have his 211-game suspension overturned.  The hearing is being overseen by arbitrator Fredric Horowitz.

Rodriguez's suspension cannot officially begin until it is upheld by Horowitz.  The players' association filed the grievance to force an appeal.

The Yankees third baseman was suspended on August 5th for violating Major League Baseball's drug policy.  The player's union believes the length of the suspension is excessive.

Horowitz is expected to make a decision this winter.
