The struggling Buffalo Sabres got a fourth round shootout goal from Cory Hodgson to pick up the 5-4 win over the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday.

The Sabres had a two goal lead going in to the third period, but goals from Tyler Kennedy and Tomas Hertl 70 seconds apart tied the game early in that frame.  Buffalo was able to go ahead again nearly three minutes later on a goal from Henrik Tallinder.  However, the Sharks tied the game again with under four minutes to play when Tommy Wingels tipped a shot past Ryan Miller.

Miller made 47 saves for the now 3-13-1 Sabres.  San Jose has lost three in a row.

Buffalo now heads West to take on the L.A. Kings on Thursday.
