Thanks to the late heroics of Marcus Foligno, the Buffalo Sabres were able to force overtime and eventually beat the New York Islanders 4-3 on Tuesday night.

The Sabers were just two minutes away from their eighth straight loss when Foligno took a feed from Tyler Myers off of a turnover and blasted a shot through traffic from the circle to beat Isles goaltender Evgeni Nabokov with just 2:01 to play in regulation.

After a scoreless five minute overtime period, the Sabres were able to defeat the Islanders in the shootout with goals from Thomas Vanek and Tyler Ennis.  Buffalo netminder Ryan Miller only allowed a goal from Matt Moulson and the Sabres secured the 4-3 victory.

Miller had 41 saves for the Sabres who had to come from behind three times in the game.  It was only the second time this season that Buffalo has scored more than one goal.

The Sabres will play Thursday night in Buffalo against the Vancouver Canucks.
