The women's basketball team was able to get the big win against the Vermont Catamounts in their previous matchup. On February 19, the Bearcats traveled to Massachusetts to face the River Hawks of UMass Lowell.

The River Hawks shot well in the first quarter but cooled off in the second. Jaliena Sanchez had eight first-half points. Kharis Idom put up six and Shamyjha Price chipped in five as UMass was able to record 27 points.

Binghamton had difficulty converting their shots at the beginning of the game but towards the end of the half, they gained traction and some momentum. Kai Moon tallied seven, Clare Traeger added five and four other Bearcats each scored a bucket as the team trailed 27-20 going into the break.

The third quarter was a back and forth affair that ended in a tie. It all came down to clutch plays down the stretch from both teams. UMass Lowell leaned on players such as Kharis Idom who ended with 14 points, Jaliena Sanchez with 12 and Denise Solis who chalked up 11 as the River Hawks registered 58 for the game.

Binghamton was in a position to win going into the fourth. Players like Kai Moon and her 19 points were crucial in getting to that point. Other players included Carly Boland with 11 and Clare Traeger chipping in seven as the Bearcats defeat UMass Lowell 62-58.

With the victory, BU currently sits at 7-6 in the conference while being 10 games over 500 at 18-8 overall. The women will continue their road trip as their next stop will be in Connecticut on February 22 as they will take on the University of Hartford.
