The Binghamton women's basketball team won big at home in their last matchup against the University of Maine. On January 22, the Bearcats looked for back to back wins in the Events Center as the hosted the Seawolves of Stony Brook University.

Stony Brook was contained in the first quarter but managed to catch fire in the second quarter. Kaela Hilaire led the way for the Seawolves with 10 points. Victoria Johnson added eight and Cheyenne Clark chipped in five as the team put up 31 first-half points.

Binghamton started strong, but then saw their lead dwindle as the half progressed. Kai Moon accounted for 10, Carly Boland registered five and Karlee Krchnavi tallied four as the Bearcats trailed 31-23 at halftime.

Stony Brook had a couple of scares in the second half as BU managed to get within striking distance of their lead. Kaela Hilaire finished with 17, India Pagan ended with 16 and Victoria Johnson chalked up 13 as the Seawolves totaled 67 points.

Binghamton came close to taking the lead a few times in the second half, making a great effort down the stretch. Kai Moon notched 21, Denai Bowman secured 12 and  Carly Boland and Karlee Krchnavi each racked up seven as the Bearcats fell 67-60. The team will be on the road for their next game on January 25. They will look to rebound in Durham as they take on the University of New Hampshire Wildcats.
