Right before the new year kicked off, the Binghamton men's basketball team faced off against Hartwick College on December 30, coming out with the win. The Bearcats hoped to continue their success in 2020 by getting their first conference victory against University at Albany.

The Great Danes put up a lot of shots in the first half and were able to convert on quite a few of them. Cameron Healy put up 12, Trey Hutchinson had eight and Antonio Rizzuto tallied seven as the team recorded 41 points in the half.

Binghamton was able to stay close in the early stages of the game but then allowed Albany to open up a large lead. Brenton Mills led the team with 10 points, Sam Sessoms scored eight and Hakon Hjalmarsson added five as the Bearcats trailed 41-27 going into the break.

Albany was solid all game long and was very tough. Cameron Healy chalked up 17, Ahmad Clark added 16 and Antonio Rizzuto chipped in 10 as the Great Danes totaled 74 points.

Binghamton managed to cut the deficit to single digits a few times in the second half, but couldn't close the gap. Sam Sessoms poured in 22 and Brenton Mills registered 17. Pierre Sarr recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds as the Bearcats fell by a final score of 74-62. The team is now 0-1 in conference play. They will look to bounce back on January 8 as they will host UMBC for their second America East opponent.
