The Binghamton Bearcats women's soccer team won their America East conference opener on Sunday afternoon at the Bearcats Sports Complex.  They defeated the Vermont Catamounts 3-2 and upped their overall record to 7-2-1. The Catamounts are now 2-5-1 and 0-1 in America East.

The Catamounts scored first but BU countered with goals from Dora Hayes and Essie Bonney for the go ahead goal.  Bonney now has five goals which is tops on the Bearcats squad.  The eventual game-winning tally came late in the second half when Stefania Piantadosi set-up Ivana Pjetri with the Bearcats' third goal.

Binghamton raises it record at the Bearcats' Sports Complex to 5-0 and breaks a string of five consecutive losses against Vermont.  Next up for the Bearcats is a trip to the University of New Hampshire on Sunday, September 29 at 1:00 P.M.
