The weather played a major factor in the Bills' home loss to the New England Patriots. With wind gusts of over 50 mph, the Patriots turned to their ground game and let rookie QB Mac Jones only toss three passes the entire game as the Patriots beat the Bills 14-10 on a cold windy Monday night at Highmark Stadium.

The aerial attack didn't matter for New England as they rushed for 222 yards on the evening. It is the 2nd time in a row at home that the Buffalo defense has given up over 200 rushing yards to their opponent.

On the flip side, the Buffalo Bills, who are known for a high-powered aerial attack, only rushed for 99 total yards. The Bills' rushing attack was led by QB Josh Allen who had 39 total rushing yards on 6 attempts. Devin Singletary had 10 carries for 36 yards and Zack Moss had 21 yards on 8 carries.

Allen had 10 times more pass attempts than Mac Jones and went 15 for 30 with 145 yards with one touchdown.

With the loss, the Bills are now 1.5 games behind the Patriots for the AFC East lead and now are 7-5 on the season and a battle for a wild-card playoff spot. The Bills are currently in the 7th seed for the playoffs. If the season ended today, they would be on the road taking on the Ravens in Baltimore. Last year the Bills beat the Ravens at home in the playoffs.

The schedule doesn't get any easier for the Bills. Next Sunday they travel to take on Tom Brady and Tampa Bay. The Bucs lead the NFC South division and are 9-3 on the season.
