Broome Man, Woman Charged in Child Injury Investigation
Two town of Maine residents have been arrested in connection with an incident in which a child sustained a broken bone.
Authorities say 21-year-old Austyn Sands was charged with third-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child after an investigation by the Broome County Sheriff's Office.
26-year-old Dallas Survilla was charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
Investigators say they were arrested after a child under their care sustained a broken femur as a result of being left in an "inadequate" travel crib.
The sheriff's office announced the arrests Friday. A news release did not indicate the age of the child or whether the child is related to the suspects. No information was available on when the child was hurt.
Sands and Survilla were released after their arraignment.
