Way Too Early Bowl Projections After Week One of College Football
Could some big New York State universities be bowl-bound this winter? After one week logged in the college football season, ESPN seems to think so.
Sure, the season is young, but ESPN college football experts Kyle Bonagura and Mark Schlabach released their first batch of bowl projections.
Bonagura and Schlabach both agreed that the Syracuse Orange will be the ACC's representative to make the Capital One Orange Bowl on December 30 in Miami, Florida.
Where they differ is who the Orange will play. Bonagura believes the Dino Babers-led team will face off against LSU, while Schlabach thinks Penn State will be the team's opponent.
Syracuse is coming off a 24-0 shutout away from home against Liberty University, and FBS Independent.
Although the team lost star quarterback Tyree Jackson to the NFL, Bonagura believes the Buffalo Bulls will go bowling. He has the Bulls in the Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl on December 21, competing against the UCF Knights.
Buffalo is coming off a 38-10 victory over Robert Morris University.
Finally, Schlabach is picking Army to play in the Birmingham Bowl on January 2 against the Cincinnati Bearcats.
The men from West Point won a low-scoring game against Rice University on Friday by a score of 14-7
