Hawks Hand BU Men Road Loss
The Hartford Hawks proved too much for the Binghamton Bearcats men's basketball team in West Hartford on Wednesday night. The Hawks upped their America East record to 5-2 with a 73-57 victory over BU. The Bearcats fell to 2-6 at the halfway point of the conference schedule.
George Tinsley was the key for Binghamton's comeback effort with a season high 25 points including 17 in the second half. Tinsley, who earned America East Rookie of the Week honors last week, hit on six three-point shots and helped BU cut the Hawks' lead to four midway through the second half.
Binghamton's only other player scoring in double figures was Brenton Mills who accounted for 11 points.
Sam Sessoms drew plenty of double teams and finished with nine points. Sessoms needs just 29 points to reach the 1,000 point career mark. When he reaches that mark he will become just the seventh player in America East history to do so as a sophomore.
Binghamton has its bye weekend and does not play again until Wednesday, February 5 when the team visits UAlbany at the SEFCU Arena. The game begins the second half of the conference schedule for the Bearcats.
