New York Restaurants, Gyms and Casinos Can Stay Open Later
Restaurants, bars, casinos, fitness centers in New York can stay open until 11 p.m.
Governor Andrew Cuomo announced allowing the establishments to stay open another hour as COVID-19 infection rates have been falling.
Friday, February 12, the Democrat signed an Executive Order moving the closing time for restaurants from 10 p.m. to 11 p.m. and over the weekend, went on to include the extended closing time for gyms, fitness centers, casinos, billiard halls and other State Liquor Authority-licensed establishments.
Cuomo says with hospitalizations and the positivity rate continuing to decline and the holiday surge over, steps can be taken to further re-open the economy.
With the later hours, businesses are reminded to keep up on social distancing and enforcing mask-wearing to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
