It was a tough home loss for the Bearcats on January 15 as they fell 72-53 to the Vermont Catamounts. The men's basketball team was looking to rebound by getting a big road win on January 19 as they faced the Maine Black Bears.

Maine came out with an aggressive intensity in the opening period. Sergio El Darwich and Nedeljko Prijovic each had 12 points with Stephane Ingo not too far behind with 11. The Black Bears tallied 46 for the half.

Binghamton, unfortunately, struggled to match the intensity of their opponents early on in the game. Sam Sessoms was the only one in double digits in the first half with 10 points.  Brenton Mills and Javon Brown each scored nine as the Bearcats trailed 46-33 going into halftime.

Out of the break, Maine continued to dominate. Sergio El Darwich finished with 26, Andrew Fleming recorded 15 and Nedeljko Prijovic added 14 as the Black Bears racked up 86 points.

Binghamton wasn't able to respond to the overwhelming defense, getting shut down on numerous possessions. Sam Sessoms registered 21, Javon Brown notched 12 and Brenton Mills counted for 11 as the Bearcats fell by a final score of 86-63. The team's next matchup will be on January 22. They'll look to rebound on the road against the Stony Brook Seawolves.
