Thousands Attend Greater Binghamton Airshow
The Greater Binghamton Airshow drew a big crowd despite weather conditions that were less than perfect.
Saturday afternoon's event at the Greater Binghamton Airport in the town of Maine was held despite a rainy start to the day and a persistent cloud cover.
Broome County officials said the airshow attracted more than 8,000 people.
The schedule of performances was adjusted due to the weather.
The Golden Knights - the United States Army's parachute team - was not able to perform because of the cloudy conditions. Members of the team spent time chatting with people who had hoped to see their show and apologized for not being able to provide their planned demonstration.
One of the two U.S. Air Force A-10 jets flew in a modified performance. The four-plane Canadian Harvard Aerobatic team also was able to take to the air.
