Vermont and Stony Brook Top America East Men’s Basketball
As the America East men's basketball schedule heads to the third week two familiar names are on top of the pack in the conference standings. The Vermont Catamounts and Stony Brook Seawolves not only are both off to 3-0 starts in America East but also have posted the top overall records in the conference.
Stony Brook is 15-3 and defeated the Bearcats on Long Island last week. the Catamounts are 13-4 overall. The Seawolves have won five in a row while the Catamounts have won four straight. No other America East team has won more than nine games overall.
Hartford and Binghamton are tied for third place with 1-1 slates while UMass Lowell, UMBC, New Hampshire and Maine are all 1-2. Albany is off to an 0-2 conference start.
The Bearcats continue their toughest part of the schedule facing the UMBC Retrievers on the road on Wednesday evening and then facing Vermont Saturday in another 7:00 P.M. contest. Both games can be heard on News Radio 1290 WNBF with air at 6:45 P.M. each night.
